About Heart of a Border Collie Rescue
Mission
Heart of a Border Collie Rescue is an all-volunteer, registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rehoming of border collies in need (and other herding breeds/border collie crosses) from Minnesota, the Dakotas, and neighboring states.
While dogs are with us waiting for loving and permanent homes, we provide them with temporary housing in approved foster homes throughout the Twin Cities and outstate Minnesota, proper medical care, training, rehabilitation, and education of their prospective adopters.
Partnerships
We believe that we can do the most good for border collies by partnering rather than competing with other rescues and shelters.
We are affiliated with Aussie Rescue of MN (ARM) and Northwest MN Aussie Rescue (NWMNAR) to provide a safety net for herding breeds in Minnesota and the Dakotas.
Volunteers
All members of HOABCR are volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for their efforts. All of our dogs live in foster homes until a suitable 'forever home' can be found.
All adoption candidates have been screened by a veterinarian, including but not limited to:
-
temperament check
-
health check
-
spayed/neutered
-
test for parasites
-
test for heartworms (treated if necessary)
-
current on all shots
-
microchipped
